The vet who helped us, David, was great! he thoroughly analyzed Edward, our 18-year-old cat, and reassured us that he is in good shape for an old man. He did not push a bunch of unnecessary tests and procedures on us, the way many corporate vets do. Edward appeared to like him too, and -- unusual for Edward -- did not try to bite him.

I have a great experience at Dupont Veterinary Clinic with my rescue dog who I adopted 11 months ago. To start with, we are always seen on-time. I feel like everyone who has interacted with me and my dog at the practice has had my dog's best interests in mind and truly cared. I have felt listened to and respected by Dr. Murray and the support staff. My dog, who is somewhat shy, seems comfortable with Dr. Murray. Dr. Murray does a good job of explaining different treatment options. I feel like he is honest and doesn't make recommendations for things that aren't necessary like extra lab work to increase the bill (I have heard of this happening at other practices). We saw another vet at Dupont Vet Clinic once for a more urgent issue, and had a very positive experience with that doctor, as well. The veterinary assistants have always been very kind to my dog and were patient and careful while trimming his nails. I have never felt like the doctors are rushed, yet the appointments still feel efficient. The front office staff has always been friendly, attentive, professional and helpful. Great job by everyone! When I have needed my dog to be seen more urgently, the clinic has always tried to fit me in -- often being able to offer an appointment within 1 business day. Of course, I wish that veterinary care was not so expensive, but given the level of care and what things cost in this city I think it is reasonable. They are up-front about prices and always willing to provide the cost if I ask before completing a service. I'm sure I could take my dog elsewhere for cheaper vaccines or care in general, but I come to Dupont Veterinary Clinic because of the high quality of care and because it is convenient. I also believe it is a privately owned practice, rather than some venture-capital backed corporate chain, and I would much prefer to pay a privately owned practice for my dog's care. I will continue to take my dog to Dupont Veterinary Clinic.
